 To Inspire the practitioners of this Gentle Art

Jeremiah Washington is a Brazilian Jiujitsu Black Belt under Atos BJJ, a member of the JJGF Self-Defense Unit, and a devoted servant-leader dedicated to building community through embodied philosophy and radical care. He holds an AA in Kinesiology and is currently completing his BA in Communications, blending movement, scholarship, and service into a singular path of impact.

A College Corps Fellow turned administrative support leader at CSU Stanislaus, Jeremiah has completed over 450 hours of community service and continues to mentor, organize, and uplift students from within the system — and beyond it.

As the founder of Spirit of Jiujitsu, he teaches not just grappling technique, but personal growth through discipline, humility, and shared truth. His work extends across classrooms, community programs, and creative platforms where he encourages others to meet challenge with presence, and pressure with grace.

Jeremiah’s goal is not to be “the best” — but to be the most high-level, hard-to-defeat version of himself, on and off the mat.
